Final preparations are underway for the Lake Norman Wine and Food Festival at Kenton Place in Cornelius, NC. Twelve hundred feet of fencing is ready to be staked, five thousand tickets are boxed to go and four thousand wine glasses await their first pour. On June 5-6, 2010, participants will have an opportunity to taste over 60 vintages from at least a dozen wineries, savor a diverse selection of area restaurants, help local charities and connect with the community.

“Bringing the festival to life over the past several months has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and I can’t wait to share a taste of that experience with attendees next month. This is an excellent chance for area residents to enjoy great wine and food while benefiting three very deserving local charities. It’s truly been a privilege to work with Angels and Sparrows, Hope House and the Mooresville Soup Kitchen,” stated the Lake Norman Wine and Food Festival’s Acting Executive Director, V. Tom Gardner.

The festival will showcase three main areas, the Fogle Insurance Group Wine Tent, the Party Reflections Restaurant Galley, and the Merchants area. The Fogle Insurance Group Wine Tent will include tastings from a variety of local wineries including: Allison Oaks Vineyards, Brushy Mountain Winery, Davaste Vineyards, Dobbins Creek Vineyards, Old Stone Vineyard and Winery, Raintree Cellars Winery, Round Peak Vineyards, Shadow Springs Vineyard, Shelton Vineyards, Southern Charm Winery, Stony Mountain Vineyards and Uwharrie Vineyards.

The Party Reflections Restaurant Galley will showcase small dishes from several restaurants such as Brooklyn South Neighborhood Pizzeria, Alton’s Kitchen and Cocktails, Dressler’s Restaurant, Kernel T’s Korn Krib, Mayo’s Ristorante and Sangam Indian Cuisine. And the Merchants area will include regional vendors and boutique offerings. Vendors currently confirmed for the Merchants area are Amy Queen Portraits, Art by Carroll, Ballas Chiropractic at Northcross, It’s Ric’s Turn, Lake Norman Wine Enthusiasts, Max Howard Sculpture, Nature’s Stones Designed by Cindy, New Point Learning Center, The Pampered Chef and YAZ and KAZ Creations.
